Farm policies: All riders under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult, unless specific arrangements have been made in advance with instructor. Family members and guests must stay in close proximity of the rider they are accompanying or in their personal vehicle. Guests may watch lessons from outside the arena. Please do not enter arena, speak or yell to the rider while lessons are in session. Absolutely no coaching. Please do not pet or feed any other horses on property unless given permission by the horse’s owner. All dogs must be on a leash unless permission is given otherwise Lesson Rules: Arrival Time: Rider should arrive 15 minutes prior to lesson start time to groom and tack up their horse. Punctuality: Please arrive on time for your lesson. Riders arriving 15 minutes or more late may have their lesson cancelled and forfeited. If you’re running behind, call or text to let Anthem know. When possible—and if the schedule allows—Anthem may be able to adjust for a later start, but this can’t be guaranteed, and the lesson may still be cancelled. Thank you for respecting everyone’s time and helping lessons run smoothly. Rider Attire: All riders are expected to arrive properly dressed for their lesson. This includes breeches, tall boots or paddock boots with half chaps (if available), gloves, a fitted shirt tucked in, and a helmet. Helmets are available to borrow until you purchase your own. Appropriate clothing is required for safety reasons. Riders who arrive without correct attire or footwear may have their lesson cancelled and forfeited. Hair and Jewerly: Hair must be secured out of the face using a ponytail holder or fabric headband. Dangling earrings and excessive jewelry must be removed before mounting. Equipment: All riders are expected to provide their own equipment for their personal use during lessons. This includes but is not limited to whips, spurs, and safety vests. Tack is provided by Anthem Day Eventing. Riders may use their own saddle or saddle pad at my discretion. Parental Guidance Assisting Child With Tacking Up: Young riders are expected to learn to safely tack and untack their horses by themselves. Assistance will be provided by the instructor at the their discretion. We ask that parents and grandparents please do not step in to help unless they are knowledgeable of horses and are assisting with a task that the child is not capable of completing it independently. Communication During Lessons: For guests, parents, and grandparents: Please do not coach or yell to the child during their lesson. If a conversation is necessary, please ask the instructor to stop the rider to have the conversation. Any communication with any rider during a lesson should be done through the instructor. Rider Falls: In the event your child falls, please do not run into the arena to the rider. Please allow the instructor time to determine if the rider is injured and to help them recover their horse. Falling off is an unfortunate part of learning to ride and is an important learning experience. While we realize it’s a difficult experience to watch your child fall and potentially cry, they must learn to manage the emotions associated with the fall and get right back on. The only exception is in case urgent medical care is necessary Emotional Regulation: Learning to manage emotions is a part of riding and working with horses. Any rider who succumbs to frustration and directs anger either through physical or verbal outbursts towards the horse or the instructor will be immediately instructed to dismount and the lesson will be over. Rider will be responsible for properly untacking and putting away the horse in a respectful manner. Showing Requirements: Minimum Time Commitment: Riders who would like to show are required to ride for a minimum of one year and lesson a minimum of one day a week. This is subject to change at the trainer’s discretion and does not guarantee the ability to compete in shows. The exception is for riders that would like to begin competing in leadline classes. Show Schedule: All riders who would like to compete must state that desire at the beginning of the show year(in September) and submit a written request for the dates of the shows they wish to compete in. Showing will be on a first come first serve basis. Horse will be assigned by trainer, unless rider owns or leases a horse. GDCTA: Anthem Day Eventing bly suggests all competitors be members of GDCTA but it is not mandatory. Familiarization with GDCTA rules and regulations is required. All information regarding GDCTA can be found at www.GDCTA.org Advanced Showing Requirements: Riders who wish to compete at any level higher than Amoeba or wish to compete in Dressage only must lesson a minimum of twice a week and lease or own their horse. Show Fees: Show fees are the responsibility of the rider and/or rider’s family. In addition to the show fees, there is a coaching fee of $85 for one day coaching or $120 for overnight trips that include coaching the day before the show and coaching the day of the show, plus a day rate for the use of the horse of $50. Additional fees can be found in the list on our client and boarders FB group. Show Attire: All riders intending to show must have appropriate show clothing. Rules for attire can be found at www.usef.org Sportsmanship: All riders are expected to adhere to good sportsmanship conduct. Bragging or teasing will not be tolerated and may result in the rider being “scratched” from the remainder of the competition or not being allowed to compete again. Parental Supervision: For riders under the age of 18, please do not leave the show grounds between rides with the rider for any reason. Arrival Time: Riders must be at showgrounds at least one hour before their first ride. Riders are expected to be tacking up their horse 20-30 minutes before their class depending on instructor's guidance. Ride Time Responsibilites: Riders are responsible for knowing their ride times and coordinating any course walks with instructor prior to the competition. Show Preparation: Riders are expected to bathe their horse and clean their tack the day before the show. Boots must be cleaned and/or polished before the show. End of Day: Please do not leave at the conclusion of the final class before ribbons are given and the instructor has had a chance to review their dressage test. Please let instructor know before you leave for the day so we can get pictures. Payment Policies Individual Lessons: Lessons are priced at $70 for 30 minutes (1 hour for beginners). Lessons are scheduled as private or semi-private at instructor's discretion. Payment is required at the time of scheduling to schedule individual lessons. Lesson Packages: Lesson packages are billed at the beginning of the month and are to be used by the end of the month. Lessons for the month will be billed at $260.00 for all weekly scheduled lessons. Invoices must be paid by the third day of the month or subject to a $30 late fee. No lessons will be given prior to payment. One lesson per month may be rescheduled to a makeup day. Lessons are nonrefundable and non-transferable. Lessons are usually scheduled once a week but may be scheduled as often as desired. For riders that lesson twice a week or more, a package discount will be applied. Twice a week lesson packages will be billed at $500.00 per month. Package lessons get priority in scheduling. Rescheduling: Rescheduling must be done 24 hours in advance of the lesson unless for emergency reasons. Emergency cancellations require a minimum of 6 hours notice or lesson is forfeited. Cancellation the day of or no-show will result in a forfeit of the lesson and money will not be reimbursed. Contract Termination: Termination of contract requires a 30 day notice. Disregarding Rules: For safety reasons, if the rules are disregarded, Anthem Day Eventing reserves the right to cancel all future lessons without reimbursement. I confirm that I have read and understood the terms outlined above including the lesson cancellation and fee forfeiture policies.Payment MethodsVenmo: @Anthem-DayEventing Paypal: anthem.day1@gmail.com Cash or Check made out to Anthem Day EventingSignature (Signature of Parent if Rider is under 18) Δ
